Banshee Makers

A tragi-comedy set in a now run down coalyard on the banks of the river Suir in the 1970's.  The play is a story of love and passion and of the craving that the absence of both can leave in the human heart.  Banshee Makers examines the lives of three coal men.  Scooter, a simple minded youth who dreams of the family he never knew.  Nix, embittered and world weary.  Charlie, the coal yard married Lothario and Kathleen, the lonely and desperate office clerk who works with them.  By unravelling the fabric of those ordinary lives we are reminded that there is often nothing as extradorinary or deceptive as that which is apparently ordinary.  It is a story of shadows that can be permanently cast over lives and the damage those shadows can do.  Welcome to the ranks of the left behind.
